Being thankful…for everything.

I’m thankful today for hot water.  Last week, after getting home after a short afternoon of shopping with my daughter, I casually walked into my laundry room to throw a load of clothes into the washer. My hot water heater had just begun to crack, leak and spill out onto my laundry floor. What if that would have happened while we were shopping and my house was totally flooded?! God was so gracious in allowing the leak to be found quickly and for our plumber friend to replace the whole unit, (up and running!) in 3 hours !!!! (on this 49 degree night!) The thought of a cold shower was more than I could imagine. Thank you, Lord for my hot water. And while I’m in the laundry room, Lord, thank you for my washing machine and dryer ….. I know I take them for granted, every time I turn them on ….. God really is interested in all the little things in our lives!

And sometimes He needs to remind me of that …… thank you, Jehovah Jireh. <><

Love, Lynn

Thanks so much for your thoughts Lynn! I know sometimes I forget to be thankful…especially for the little things in life or the everyday conveniences (like a washer and dryer) that even though they make life so much easier, they become part of the routine. It’s so easy to take things for granted. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for everything.

I’m so glad that your leak was caught in time. Thank you for your reminder to be thankful for EVERYTHING!

Your post made me think about something my grandmother has told me many times! When you’re complaining about the endless pile of dirty laundry, praise the Lord that you have clothes to wear. When you grumble about another load of dishes, thank God that you have food to put in them. When your child tries your patience and you wonder if you’ll make it through the day, praise the Lord that you have a precious little one and His strength to pull you through! Such great reminders to be thankful for all the little things in life! Thanks for putting this on my mind again!
